Hyrox Training in Park Ridge

The world's fastest-growing fitness race. Train for it here — classes start March 2026.

What is Hyrox?

Hyrox is a global fitness competition that combines running with functional workout stations. Every race follows the same format worldwide: 8 rounds of a 1km run followed by a functional exercise. It's the same test whether you're racing in Chicago, London, or Dubai.

Unlike obstacle course races or marathons, Hyrox rewards well-rounded fitness. You need cardio endurance for the running, raw strength for the sled pushes and pulls, grip endurance for the farmer's carry, and the mental toughness to push through wall balls at the end when your legs are gone.

It's the perfect competition for CrossFitters, former athletes, and anyone who wants a measurable goal to train toward. You compete against yourself, your previous time, and thousands of athletes around the world — all on the same course.

Official Hyrox Affiliate

Moonshot CrossFit is an official Hyrox affiliate gym. Our programming follows Hyrox-approved training methodology designed to prepare you for race day.

CrossFit Gives You the Base

If you already do CrossFit, you're ahead of the game. Sled pushes, rowing, wall balls, farmer's carries — you train these movements regularly. Hyrox classes layer in the running volume and race-specific pacing strategy.

All Equipment On-Site

SkiErgs, rowers, sleds, sandbags, wall balls, farmer's carry handles — we have every piece of equipment you'll encounter on race day. No substitutions, no guessing.

Recover and Optimize Under One Roof

Moonshot shares a building with Moonshot Medical and Performance — physical therapy, recovery, and performance medicine when your training demands it.

Who is Hyrox For?

Hyrox has divisions for every level. You don't need to be an elite athlete — you just need a willingness to work.

Hyrox FAQ

Do I need to sign up for a Hyrox race to take the classes?

No. The classes are great standalone training whether or not you plan to race. That said, once you start training you'll probably want to sign up.

I've never done CrossFit. Can I still do Hyrox classes?

Yes. Every exercise is scalable. Our coaches will modify weights, distances, and intensity based on your current fitness level. You don't need a CrossFit background to start.

How is a Hyrox class different from a regular CrossFit class?

CrossFit classes focus on broad, general fitness — different movements and time domains every day. Hyrox classes are race-specific: you'll train the exact 8 stations plus running intervals, with an emphasis on pacing, transitions, and building the endurance to sustain effort over 60-90 minutes.

Can I do both CrossFit and Hyrox classes?

Absolutely — and we'd recommend it. CrossFit builds the strength and conditioning base. Hyrox classes add the race-specific work on top. Many of our members will do both.

Where is the nearest Hyrox race?

Hyrox hosts races across North America and globally throughout the year, including events in Chicago. Check hyrox.com for the latest race schedule and registration.
